You might be a high school student who is already successful at mock trial. You might want some help with your skills to be even better next year. Or you might be new to mock trial altogether. No matter what your skill level, the Miami University Trial, Advocacy and the Law Conference can be the right fit for you!
Spend six days with one of the country’s top collegiate mock trial programs. Created in 1994, the Miami University Mock Trial program is one of the nation’s elite programs where you can have a great educational experience and improve your skills, all while having the time of your life.

Student Picture You will stay as guests of the Miami University Mock Trial program, the second-ranked program in the United States and the premier program in Ohio and the Midwest. You will stay in university halls, with all of your meals in Miami University’s award-winning dining halls. During the day, Miami University professors of

Business Legal Studies and practicing attorneys who also coach the Miami University Mock Trial Program will teach you about the different aspects of trial, advocacy and the law. By the end, you will be ready to put on a
case with your team – both as an attorney and as a witness. You will learn valuable skills for mock trial and college like leadership, self-confidence, camaraderie, teamwork, oral communication skills, critical thinking, and problem solving – all while having fun.

The Miami University Trial, Advocacy and the Law Conference will teach you valuable skills – whether you are on a high school mock trial team or simply a student interested in the law. In a week’s time, you will learn about a field that touches every aspect of your life. You will have a college experience on one of the country’s most beautiful campuses. And you will make life-long friends.

Professor Daniel J. Herron

Professor of Business Legal Studies and Director of the Miami University Mock Trial Program, awarded Outstanding Legal Educator 203 by the American Mock Trial Association; inducted in the Mock Trial Coaches Hall of Fame; coach of the 2001 Collegiate Mock Trial National Champions.

Judge Daniel E. Haughey

Butler County Ohio County Court Judge, Visiting Professor Business Legal Studies, former All-American Mock Trialer with the Miami University program.

Attorney Neal Schuett

Adjunct professor of Business Legal studies, practicing attorney in Butler County, Ohio; former member of the University of Iowa mock trial team and two-time national champion.
